Request for support – Teenagers and hearing aid study

“New research is being conducted on identifying the barriers and facilitators of using hearing aids among deaf teenagers. The researchers are looking for participants to complete a short online survey, that fit the following requirements:

  • Aged 13 to 18 years.
  • Using or have been advised to use a hearing aid in at least one ear.
  • Attending mainstream education.
  • Over 16s taking part should be able to read and understand the participant information sheet and provide informed consent.
  • Under 16s taking part should be able to read and understand the simplified participant information sheet and additionally will be asked for parental consent.
  • All consent takes place within the survey, accessed from the link below.

Please share the survey link and eligibility criteria with your professional networks, teenagers and parents, encourage eligible teenagers to complete the survey, and encourage colleagues to promote the survey with eligible teenagers and parents. This will help to answer an important question about teenagers’ experiences of hearing aid use.”
