In this session, we’ll look at how early emotional development plays a part in all areas of learning, and how the early stages of a child’s life can impact their confidence, resilience, perseverance, relationships, and friendships later on.
We’ll explore Theory of Mind, Attachment, identity and self-esteem. As well as how you can support deaf children to ensure they have equal access to emotional understanding.
This session will help you:
- understand how personal, social, and emotional development (PSE) can be impacted by deafness
- understand the importance of PSE development in all other areas of development and learning
- be aware of the barriers to PSE for deaf children and plan how to overcome them
