Together We Can Implement Effective Transition for Deaf Children
In this session, we’ll discuss the importance of transition and how a positive, smooth experience can benefit deaf children.
We’ll look at the barriers to effective transition and how to overcome these. We’ll also identify key players in the transitional process and everyone can play their role to support the child through this time.

Our expert, Mark Lowes, Bright Start Programme Officer:
Mark has worked at the National Deaf Children’s Society since 2018. Prior to this, he has worked in nurseries, been a primary school teacher, and a Higher Education lecturer teaching early childhood development and primary education. Now, he primarily works with those working in the early years, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and inclusion for young deaf children. He specialises in education and learning for deaf children in any setting suitable for children under five.
