The new Ofsted framework and priorities for the SI sector
This online event is for managers and members of specialist SI service providers, including those in schools and colleges, other education settings, VCS, agencies and all organisations working together to secure better outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairments. The new framework for 2023 outlined a new inspection model. All Local Area Partnerships are subject to a range of full inspections, monitoring inspections, engagement meetings, and area SEND thematic visits. We will be looking at the national picture for sensory impairment, including an update about development of the Change Programme in the SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan.
During the event:
- André Imich (DfE) will update us on the latest information from SEND Inspections and the DfE, including the Change Programme
- Brian Lamb (NatSIP) will consider the implications and opportunities for specialist sensory impairment provision
- Colleagues from the sector who have been part of recent Local Area SEND Inspections will share their experiences and top tips. There will be an opportunity for contributions from delegates and, we hope, questions with answers from NatSIP partners.
Through discussion, we will invite you to identify the opportunities and challenges that Local Area Inspections may provide for the SI sector and support that NatSIP might offer through partner organisations.
