This event is for 11-18 year old pupils (and their parents / carers) in Yorkshire and the North of England.
“This event will provide presentations and information from:
• Deaf role models from various professions
• Representatives from national and local employers
• Job centre Plus / Department of Work and Pensions (Access to Work)
• Representatives from local universities and colleges
• Stalls with representation from national Deaf charities and other organisations
The aim of the event is to motivate and inspire young Deaf people to achieve their full potential and meet Deaf people who have excelled in their chosen careers. It will also be an opportunity to find out about the support available to young deaf people when applying for jobs and when in work. Parents and carers are particularly welcome to come and take inspiration from the life experiences of successful Deaf adults who are working in a wide variety of roles and settings.”
