See below a request from David Canning.
“Would you be able to help review the current BATOD standards?
The current standards were published more than 20 years ago. They have proven to be very useful and effective in helping shape the design of school accommodation for deaf children and young people. However, to ensure that they are relevant and reflect current understanding we need to carry out a review which will then be submitted to the BATOD for consideration.
The linked questionnaire (https://forms.gle/ciUMzRSPrfKFKkhp9) will collect your views and opinions about the current standards. They will help shape a more detailed and in-depth review, which is likely to include a number of work streams which you will be invited to join. But this will be led initially by your comments.
Please do not feel that you have to submit a polished response as we want this to be a rapid process which leading to a more detailed response in the future. The proposed deadline for this stage of the review process is midnight on the 14th March 2025.
If you would like to forward this email to a colleague who might have a valuable insight, please feel free to do so.
Many thanks for your support in this matter.
Kind regards
David Canning”
