BATOD/BAEA Conference 2025 – tickets now on sale

The 2025 BATOD National Conference is in partnership with British Association of Educational Audiologists (BAEA)

 

Dates: 21st March (4-7pm) and 22nd March (all day)

 

Place: The Deaf Academy, 1 Douglas Ave, Exmouth EX8 2AU

 

Conference languages: English (and live captions) and British Sign Language (please ensure requests made for live captions and BSL are selected in booking form).

 

Theme: Technology in our hands: changing the world with deaf children and young people 

Technology is central to the lives of deaf children and young people, offering tools for extending participation in education, work and leisure. This conference will allow those working in the field to share information and explore how deaf children’s future lives can be enhanced and extended by technology in its broadest terms.

The call for contributions is now open.
Papers and presentations may consider areas such as:
1) innovations with technology hardware and software
2) Artificial intelligence
3) Apps for communication, participation and interaction
4) Gaming and online leisure or social activities
5) Technology for signed and spoken languages
6) Assistive listening technology
7) Accessibility for work and involvement in society
Abstracts for paper presentations (30 min), workshops/interactive presentations (60 min) and poster presentations are welcomed.
