Recruitment request
“Dear Sir/ Madam,
We are a group of researchers based at the University of East Anglia, Birkbeck University of London and Goldsmiths, who are investigating deaf and hearing children’s cognitive development.
Currently we are looking to recruit participants for interviews for parents of deaf children. Our aim is to find out more about the lived experiences of parents who had little knowledge of deafness prior to their child’s diagnosis with hearing loss. We aim to establish what need there is in this group for information or training on themes such as (but not limited to) language development and sign language development, cognitive development including conceptual understanding and social development. We also hope to find out more about what kinds of training or information materials parents find useful or would like to see more of.
The interviews will last approximately 1 hour and will be conducted over Microsoft Teams. You will be compensated with a £15 Love-To-Shop gift voucher.
If the interview is something you would be interested in participating in, please see this information sheet and RSVP with your preferred date to the researcher at: [email protected].
Any questions can also be directed to this email address.
Kind regards,
Tom Butt (Researcher), PhD Student, School of Psychology, University of East Anglia
Nadja Althaus (Project lead), Lecturer, School of Psychology, University of East Anglia “
