Ofqual has launched a 2-week public consultation on the continued use of formulae and equation sheets for GCSE mathematics, physics and combined science exams in 2025, 2026 and 2027. This follows the Department for Education’s decision that students will not have to memorise all the usual formulae and equations for qualifications taken in these years.
The consultation will be open until 11.45pm on Thursday 17 October 2024 and can be accessed here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/proposed-changes-to-the-assessment-of-mathematics-physics-and-combined-science-gcses-in-2025-2026-and-2027
They have also published:
- A letter to schools and colleges about grading arrangements for 2025, the provision of support materials in the form of formulae and equation sheets, predicted grades, resilience arrangements, and cyber security
- A letter to higher education admissions officers on grading arrangements for 2025
