In-Person course: Remote Microphone Systems, Cochlear Implants and Speech Testing: Saturday, 22nd June 2024, 9am-4pm

This event is being run in partnership with BAEA, Scottish Sensory Centre and BATOD Scotland.

For the first time, the training usually offered at University of Southampton* will be available in Scotland at the University of Edinburgh on Saturday 22nd June (10am-4pm) with networking opportunity from 9-10am.

The course will provide information about remote microphone systems, fitting them, checking and assessing their benefit in line with the latest national Quality Standards and Good Practice Guidance.

The course will cover the following –

Presentations:

  • Fitting, verification and validation of remote microphone systems (RMS)
  • Validation with speech perception tests

Hands-on workshops and group sessions:

  • Verification of speech processors with remote microphones

All necessary equipment will be provided but participants are welcome to bring along their own test box, should they have one.

Representatives from sponsors will be present throughout the event.

Restrictions: 25 places only.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
