SATS – Is the value of the qualification affected by the use of the ‘compensatory mark’?
Query “Is the value of the qualification affected by the use of the ‘compensatory mark’?
STA response – “The status of the assessment outcome isn’t affected at all and the pupil’s results will be just like every other pupil – either having met or not met the expected standard. The school would see a ‘c’ next to the GPS paper 2 – just so they know the compensatory marks have been applied and it’s not a mis-assigned script, for example. But in short – the qualification is not affected at all.”
