In June the Department for Education (DfE) has announced a brand-new GCSE British Sign Language qualification. “The GCSE will be a combination of learning how to sign and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the history of sign language in Britain, and we aim for the GCSE to be available for first teaching from September 2025.”
The consultation is still open.
