The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) explain “This booklet has been written for parents of children who have had meningitis. Deafness is the most common after-effect of meningitis.
This booklet provides information on:
- hearing tests that are carried out following meningitis
- the effects of any deafness
- what can be done to help and the support that is available.
This booklet may also be helpful to mainstream teachers who have children with deafness following meningitis in their class.
