The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair is a three day event designed specifically with 11 to 14 year olds, to provide the best careers inspiration, advice and opportunities to meet with real scientists and engineers. The event is packed full of exciting, interactive activities and is open to schools to get stuck in, get inspired and get excited at the STEM event of the year. The event will be will be returning in June at NEC Birmingham.
For this year, we have been working with Big Bang Fair to deliver a deaf role model careers panel, to empower deaf young people to get inspired and learn from deaf professionals working in STEM. They will talk, and answer questions about their journey into their career including entry into the industry apprenticeships / university, challenges and highlights, any barriers they faced and how they were overcome and sharing tips and advice for future scientists and engineers.
We are pleased to share with you that on Friday 24 June, at 10.00-11.30am, your students can come along and meet the deaf role models, while they share their experiences and routes taken into their careers. There will be British Sign Language Interpreters and live-captioning. You can register your schools place HERE
After the panel students can look around the fair, meet Careers Captains and get involved in some of the exciting STEM based activities. Communication support can be booked in advance for your group – please select this on your booking form and a member of the Big Bang team will be in touch.
