This event is for heads of sensory support services, managers and members of specialist SI service providers, including those in SI schools and colleges, VCS, agencies and organisations working together to secure better outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairment.
2020 has been a challenging year and we have all learned to work differently. With some form of ‘normal’ potentially returning in 2021, we want to explore with colleagues the lessons we have learned, and some changes which may be retained from our working experiences with children and young people with Sensory Impairment, and their families, this year.
During the day:
- Nick Whittaker (Ofsted) will speak about the work of Ofsted during 2020 ‐ Annual Report, review of SEND during the pandemic and the new framework for LA area inspections
- André Imich (SEND professional advisor at DfE) will bring us an update from the DfE and the lessons the Department has learned about the impact on SEND during 2020
- SI colleagues will draw together examples of remote teaching from across the sector
An opportunity to share:
This joint NatSIP/HoSS event is also an ideal occasion for colleagues to share innovative work in brief updates from across the SI sector during workshop sessions.

Cost:
