Information from the National Deaf Children’s Society:
The first Teacher of the Deaf Week, organised by the National Deaf Children’s Society, will be held this November. We want to celebrate the contribution Teachers of the Deaf (and other deaf support staff) make towards the education of deaf children across the UK. The National Deaf Children’s Society will be encouraging schools and children across the Nation to get involved with this week.
Get involved
You and your schools can get involved with Teacher of the Deaf week by signing up to take part in our campaign to support Teachers of the Deaf (and support staff) across the UK. There will be lots of stories, campaigns and activities to get involved in, sign up to be kept in the loop.
Help NDCS’s work to support Teachers of the Deaf by fundraising with the Fingerspellathon – a sponsored fundraising fingerspelling spelling bee. Sign up today to order your Fingerspellathon pack, fingerspelling cards and lots of other fun resources for school children.
Children can also get involved by downloading our colour in certificate for their Teacher of the Deaf.
