Helping your deaf child throughout their entire childhood
Open to families with deaf children from birth to 18 the weekend’s programme will include workshops for parents / carers looking at supporting newly diagnosed babies and on the transition to primary, secondary and work.
The workshops will look at technology, how to prepare your child for the next stage, what you need to alert the school to and many other topics.
Whilst the adults are in the workshops the children will be looked after by our DBS checked volunteers, many of whom are young deaf adults themselves.
Depending on their age they will either be in in the crèche or taking part in activities. This time we’ve hired an activity centre so the activities will all be onsite and range from archery to bush craft or BMX riding. The activities will need to be booked ahead and not all will run depending on popularity so please do let us know your preferences. Full details of the activities can be found on their website here: https://rockuk.org/activities/
The whole family is welcome and we are charging £100 per family for the whole weekend including accommodation and food with an early bird discount of £75 if your place is booked before 31 July. For larger families it is £125 per family with an early bird discount of £100 if your place is booked before 31 July.
